When I was in high school and had to compile a notebook of poetry, both original and previously published, I ran across the following verse by Robert Frost in a volume of poems. This is from his poem “In Time of Cloudburst.”

Thou, O my Jesus, Thou didst me upon the cross embrace;
For me didst bear the nails and spear, and manifold disgrace.
