In the Face of Kerry

A movie is out called In the Face of Evil: Reagan’s War in Word and Deed. It’s about Reagan’s courage in the face of the Communist threat and the clarity of vision and leadership he exhibited. It’s also about how those things are important today in our own struggles against evil.

The filmakers say…

In the Face of Evil: Reagan’s War in Word and Deed is a man and nation’s journey through the heart of darkness—and what that journey means for us today. This film is not a biography of Ronald Reagan, but a hard-hitting look at leadership and moral courage.

As the 21st century’s great conflict between freedom and Islamic Fascism takes shape, In the Face of Evil, and the words and deeds of Ronald Reagan, provide an invaluable lesson for how the U.S., and the free world, must combat the forces of Evil… if we are to survive.

Because the movie is currently only playing in select locations, I haven’t seen it. However, there is a video clip on the movie’s website that sheds interesting light on this year’s presidential campaigning.

I haven’t said much publicly about the presidential campaigns this year. And, frankly, I’m easily disgusted by it. I’m disgusted that many have sold out; I’m disgusted that many Christians act as if George W. Bush is the answer for all of America’s problems. I’m not offering an answer here but I know it’s not a weak-willed man who is tossed about by illusions of doing the right thing.

Certainly, there is no perfect candidate. I’m not suggesting that there is one. Less than ten days before the election, I’m still trying to decide who I’ll write in for president. I saw Bush’s “squishiness” during the campaign of 2000 and I see it still. I’ll never vote for a man who can’t affirm whether he’s pro-life. At critical moments in the last four years, Bush has refused to stand firm for truth: he refused to answer the question during the debate about whether he’d nominate pro-life judges; he refused to speak out for the public acknowledgement of God. He even appointed Bill Pryor to a federal judgeship–within days after Pryor told an Alabama court to remove the state chief justice from office because the chief justice acknowledges God.

Well, let me get back to the point. John Kerry is a man who advocates the slaughter of children. Among many other dispicable things, he advocates the sacrifice of liberty and security and placing them at the discretion of the “world community.” There are evil people in the world and I’m not interested in letting them decide whether I defend myself and my country. I could go on and on but I’ll stop here.

One of the video clips on the website for In the Face of Evil is of President Reagan during a debate with Walter Mondale. Reagan points out the weak approach of Mondale on national security. While Reagan names Mondale’s oppositions to various security concerns, text scrolls across the screen listing Kerry’s similar problems.

See the video clip. President Reagan speaks from the grave for the defense of liberty.
