Anglican Carnival I
by Fr. Daniel Sparks ~ September 29, 2006. Filed under: Faith & Church. The world’s first edition of the Anglican Carnival is available today. Miserere Mei welcomes the birth of a new blog carnival for orthodox Anglicans. The Carnival will be hosted here again next week before it moves along to other Anglican blogs. Those interested in learning more about the Anglican Carnival should visit www.anglicancarnival.com.
Mama Hen, of At A Hen’s Pace, offers a post called “Letters, Written On My Heart“. In it, she compares Paul’s ministry to the one God has given her with her children. As a mother of six, no doubt her children are her own epistles.
At axegrinder, Jason Kranzusch writes a post styled “Life as Spam“. The post is a short story about a day in the life of a disciple of the culture of death. It is well worth reading, and may cause us all pause for reflection.
Every Anglican’s favorite statistician gives us a post titled “Pope discusses relationship between reason and faith; Muslims go berserk“. Scott Gilbreath of Magic Statistics asks a couple of important questions about the recent goings-on: What did the pope say that provoked such a violent reaction from Muslims? What does that reaction suggest about prospects for rational discourse with Muslims?
The Seven Sons of Sceva from Thursday’s Scripture reading are a funny and marvelous example for ourselves and for the Church. So says Mike the Geek of The Waffling Anglican in his post “Driving Without Gas“.
Finally, yours truly draws attention to his series of posts which feature videos of Anglican choral music. A fresh link is provided each Sunday at Miserere Mei.
Thanks to all those who participated this week. Join the carnival next week by emailing your own submissions: directions are here. Volunteer to host the carnival on your own blog: directions are here.
